“Nothing is Impossible, the word itself says I’M POSSIBLE” (Audrey Hepburn).
I believe that change is possible. Change can be scary, and change can be difficult, but it is ever so powerful! It requires having the desire, applying effort and to have courage toward implementing change in one’s life. But one must not have to walk alone in their life journey. I believe that relationship is a key component in any successful counseling process. As your therapist, I will provide unconditional positive regard, acceptance and an unbiased approach, as I strive to help facilitate your desired personal growth, collaborating with you in working through the daily experiences and life’s challenges. I feel it is a complete honor and privilege to hear your story and walk alongside you on your journey through life.
I am a License Professional Counselor and Registered Play Therapist. I earned my master’s degree in Community Counseling from John Brown University, where I also received my training in Play Therapy. I received my undergraduate degree in Elementary Education, from the University of Arkansas. I have worked in the mental health field since 2009, providing school-based and out-patient services. I work with adolescents and adults, providing individual, family and play therapy sessions, working with those who struggle with anxiety, depression, grief, adjustment, and behavioral issues. I also work with families helping them to discover new ways of dealing with difficult behavior issues with adolescents and learning new and creative ways to parent.
On a personal note, outside the office, I enjoy spending time with my Golden Doodle, Ella Grace, who also enjoys being present in the counseling room from time to time. I enjoy working in my yard, planting flowers and tending to my landscape needs. I enjoy outdoor activities, such as hiking and chasing that great photo opportunity to capture a beautiful waterfall. And did I mention that I love to listen to live music, whether it be on a small outdoor patio or at a big-name concert; I’m one of those people who sings along. Sorry! My most enjoyable place is spending time relaxing on a beach with friends and family, enjoying the sounds of the waves and the warmth of the sun. I have 3 wonderful adult children, 2 sons and 1 daughter; and as a bonus, I have gained 2 fantastic daughters (in-law) and one awesome son (in-law).
