Bio

Liz Steckel is a Licensed Professional Counselor who works with adolescents and adults. She obtained her Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Saint Louis University in 2010 and her Master's Degree in Counseling and Counselor Education from Indiana University in 2013. Liz formerly lived and practiced therapy in Indiana before moving to the NWA area. Her past internship and work experiences involved providing individual, family, and group therapy to children, adolescents and adults across inpatient and outpatient settings.

Liz values building strong therapeutic alliances with her clients to bring about healing and cultivate change. It takes courage to begin therapy and Liz strives to help clients feel comfortable and be their authentic selves. She utilizes a warm approach that incorporates cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, mindfulness, and trauma-focused techniques. Liz very much believes Elizabeth Kubler-Ross's words, "The most beautiful people we have known are those who have known defeat, known suffering, known struggle, known loss and have found their way out of those depths."

Outside of the office, Liz loves spending time with her family and friends. She can often be found knitting, baking, gardening and enjoying the outdoors. Liz also loves escaping to lakes and beaches.
