Lizzie is a Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) with experience working with individuals, couples, and families. She earned her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from the University of Arkansas and her Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from John Brown University.
As a therapist, Lizzie believes that every client is the expert in their own experience and that achieving therapeutic goals is possible through a listening ear and collaborative work. Lizzie loves to help clients work through not only the challenging times in their lives, but also explore great opportunities for growth and development throughout their process. Lizzie is passionate about free and open communication and loves when her clients can be genuinely themselves in the counseling room.
Lizzie enjoys working with individuals 12+ as well as couples and families. Through her training at John Brown University, she received a comprehensive education on many different treatment modalities and will use an integrative approach with an emphasis on person-centered and solution-focused techniques in order to help the clients reach their goals. Lizzie uses a variety of emotional awareness techniques to ensure that clients remain in the moment as they process through traumatic events, stressful life events, and difficulties in their lives. She is also trained in several play therapy modalities, and may at times introduce play activities to help clients think outside the box about their current circumstances. Lizzie has received additional training and education in the treatment of eating disorders (uncertified), and sex therapy (uncertified). She is passionate about dismantling the debilitating shame that keeps people stuck, particularly when it come to our relationships with our bodies, food, and sexual expression.
Lizzie is a native of Dallas, Texas. She moved to Northwest Arkansas for school and has no plans to leave the area anytime soon as it has become a special place in her heart. Lizzie is married to her high school sweetheart, and they have a hound dog named Joe. Outside of her work as a therapist, Lizzie is an avid reader, serves on the Alumnae Council for her sorority, and enjoys wine and cheese nights with her close friends.
