Angélica is a bilingual (Spanish and English) Licensed Associate Counselor (LAC) and a Licensed Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (LAMFT) with experience working with individuals who suffer from substance abuse as well a variety of disorders such as Bipolar I/II, Schizophrenia, and Personality Disorders. She earned a Masters from John Brown University in Clinical Mental Health.
Angélica enjoys working with individuals ages 15+ as well as families, couples, and groups. Through her training at John Brown University, she received a comprehensive education on many different treatment modalities and will use an integrative approach with an emphasis on Dialectical Behavioral Therapy and Solution focused techniques in order to help the clients reach their goals. Angélica uses a variety of mindfulness technique to ensure that clients remain in the moment as they process through traumatic events, stressful live events, and difficulties in their lives.
As a therapist, her goal is to enable clients to manage life in constructive manner and maintain a level of functionality. She also helps clients discover their capabilities by exploring with them their strengths and purposes. Given the opportunity, Angélica will help clients work through the challenging times in their lives as well as explore great opportunities for growth and development throughout their process. As your counselor, Angélica will be honored to walk through the fragmented times of life with individuals as they maneuver the crisis and difficulties that arise.
Angélica moved to Northwest Arkansas from Massachusetts fifteen years ago, loves the great outdoors and the beautiful scenery it has to offer. She has been married to her sweetheart for over 21 years. She and her husband have raised adult children that work hard to give back to the community. Even as adults, their children join together to celebrate each other’s birthdays, special holidays, and other outings to keep their relationships strong and healthy. Angélica enjoys running, listening to music, and spending time with her family. She loves giving back to the community in various capacities, especially donating time to the homeless community by proving food and other resources in the area. She enjoys participating in various charity work to help the community thrive, including to facilitation of communication between parties which increases her sense of purpose and well-being.
