Debbie obtained her Master’s degree in Community Counseling and Marriage and Family Therapy from John Brown University. She obtained credentials as a Registered Play Therapist (RPT) in 2009 and as a Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor (RPT-S) in 2014 and her Licensed Alcoholism and Drug Abuse Counselor (LADAC) in 2012 and a Clinical Supervisor for LADAC in 2014.
Debbie recently joined the team at Waters Edge, previously she worked as a counselor and program director in Recovery Services at a Northwest Arkansas Community Mental Health. In her work, Debbie facilitates therapeutic groups and individual sessions with adults who have co-occurring mental health and substance abuse disorders. She works with individuals and couples addressing relational, anger management and trauma issues. She utilizes a variety of interventions in her work, including play therapy. Debbie is also trained in EMDR. One of the leading techniques recommended for PTSD treatment.
At home, Debbie’s African Gray (bird) “Sweetie”, is busy entertaining her puppies with her singing abilities and dancing moves.
