Deb is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with many years of experience in the field of mental health, providing treatment for a variety of mental issues. After graduating from Pittsburg State University with a Major in Psychology and Minor in Biology, she obtained a Master’s degree in Social Work from The University of Kansas.
She did her internship at Johnson County Mental Health Center in Shawnee, Kansas, as an Outpatient Therapist and worked with the Crisis Case Management Team. After completion of internship she worked with Heartland Regional Alcohol and Drug Assessment Center as a Drug and Alcohol Counselor and a Solutions Case Manager. She then moved to Arkansas. Deb provided outpatient therapy at Ozark Guidance for 10 years working in the Bentonville Clinic, Berryville Clinic, and Huntsville Clinic. She also served as the Clinical Manager in all 3 clinics. In addition, she worked at Vantage Point as an outpatient therapist, as well as, being a part of another group practice in Rogers, prior to joining the Waters Edge Counseling Team.
With a strong background in Community Mental Health, experience and strengths include the following areas, Depression, Anxiety, Couples/Marriage Counseling, LGBTQ issues, Anger Issues, Substance Abuse/Addictions, Co-Dependent and Self Esteem issues, Geriatrics, Grief Issues, and Adjusting to Stressors. Most used modalities are, Solution Focused Brief Therapy, Strengths Perspective, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Compassionate Confrontation, Active and Reflective Listening, and Client Centered Therapy.
