The Waters Edge Counseling and Play Therapy Community Partner Program, was established to build strategic relationships with like-minded organizations within the northwest Arkansas region. Our goal is to offer each of our valued clients access to important causes, counseling & therapeutic services.
The primary mission of The Hit and Run Project is to support families and survivors of hit-and-run incidents while increasing community awareness. We were founded after the tragic death of Matthew Stevens, who was the victim of a hit and run. Matthew was a 19-year-old man, who was killed as a pedestrian on September 12, 2015, in Neosho, Missouri.
The goals for Unstalled, the counseling program, are to educate and enlighten existing counseling agencies as well as the general public about Equine Assisted Psychotherapy. Unstalled works alongside counselors and various other mental health professionals to assist with current treatment goals or help compose future ones.
Waters Edge Counseling and Play Therapy is proud to be a strategic EAP (Employee Assistant Program) partner with Mercy Health System in northwest Arkansas. Looking for a solution can be frustrating and time-consuming, Mercy team members have direct access to Waters Edge Counseling and Play Therapy Clinicians.
The Hit and Run Project
After her son Matthew was struck and killed In Missouri as a pedestrian by someone who fled the scene, Stacey Stevens-Bankston started the Hit and Run Project nonprofit organization to strengthen hit-and-run state laws, educate, and advocate for victims and their families.
Unstalled Equine Therapy
Unstalled is a counseling program that helps clients overcome negative and unwanted issues in their lives through guided interactions with horses. We are not a therapeutic riding program. Instead, clients learn and develop by observing, interacting and experiencing horses with a trained mental health therapist. Together with the therapist and a horse professional, clients build new strategies for life that promote healing and freedom from past hurts and current stuck~ness. We help you get "Unstalled".
